Could you tell us about your hometown and any other places that hold a place in your heart?

Phuket is my home and my biggest inspiration. Growing up in Patong — surrounded by vibrant culture, beautiful beaches, and travelers from around the world — truly shaped who I am. Chiang Mai is another special place for me. It’s calm, creative, and a hidden gem.

Can you tell us a bit about how your tailoring business started, and what inspired you to open it?

Star Tailor House – Luxury Bespoke Tailoring in Phuket was founded by my parents in 1992. I grew up watching them work with heart and precision, helping people from all walks of life feel their best. What inspired me to carry it forward was seeing how the perfect suit can instantly elevate someone’s confidence and presence.

What kinds of outfits do you usually create for clients getting married in Phuket?

We create everything from relaxed linen and bamboo wool blends suits for beach weddings to sharp tuxedos and three-piece suits for villa or resort ceremonies. We also tailor custom shirts, vests, and coordinated looks for groomsmen and fathers of the couple.

Does designing for a destination wedding in a tropical climate like Phuket require a different approach?

Absolutely. Phuket’s climate demands a balance of style and comfort. We work with lightweight, breathable fabrics like tropical wool, linen, and bamboo blends. Our tailoring is slightly relaxed to suit the weather, yet sharp enough to photograph beautifully.

How do you work with couples, especially those coming from overseas?

We start by understanding their vision via email, chat, or video call. Couples often send us inspiration boards or theme ideas. Once they arrive in Phuket, we make it, carry out with fittings typically within 2 to 7 days. For clients who can’t pick up, we offer secure international shipping via DHL.

Are there particular fabrics you love working with for wedding attire?

Definitely — tropical wool, linen, cotton-linen, and bamboo blends are my favorites. They’re breathable, comfortable, and suit Phuket’s weather perfectly while still maintaining a high-end look.

Can you share a wedding outfit you were especially proud to create?

One groom asked for a classic navy tuxedo, but with a personalized twist — we designed a custom lining that featured elements unique to his love story. It turned out beautifully and he wore it again for his reception back in Italy. That emotional connection to the garment is what makes our work special.

Have you noticed any recent trends in wedding outfits?

Yes, grooms are becoming more expressive with their style. Earthy tones like sand and sage are popular, as well as open-collar looks and custom linings or embroidery. It’s less about tradition and more about personality now.

What’s your fitting process, and when should clients ideally reach out?

The earlier, the better — especially during high season. That said, we’re used to working with tight timelines. We can usually complete a wedding suit within 2 to 7 days, with 1–2 fittings depending on the style and fabric.

Any advice for couples getting married in Phuket?

Go for fabrics that breathe, plan your outfits early, and most importantly — wear something that feels true to you. Your wedding attire should be comfortable, elegant, and reflect your unique story. Phuket is a stunning backdrop, and your outfit should rise to the occasion.
