The Slate Phuket is one of best creations of renowned hotel designer Bill Bensley, inspired by Phuket’s tin mining heritage. It is a magnificent property with lush gardens and plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings. Our personal preference would be to hold the ceremony on the lawn of the Coliseum Garden, have pre-dinner cocktails on the wooden terrace of Rebar, and head over to Black Ginger for the reception after sunset, when the blue lights create a really magical atmosphere. While these options shine, The Slate Phuket offers many other fascinating choices—from the Dirty Monstera Lounge for cocktails to the terraces of the Coliseum Garden or the post-industrial chic of Rivet restaurant for the reception.

Things to be aware of

• The resort does not directly face the beach, although it is easily reached by a 2-minute walk
• Each of the locations available for the reception and after-party has different minimum spending. However, such thresholds are generally easily met for groups of 50 guests and above
• For smaller groups, the 2-bedroom villas within the resort can also be a nice option for a more intimate wedding
• Make sure to check out the sports bar. Although it cannot be used for the after-party, it can serve as a cool break-out space for the groom and his best men
